WHY CAMP NEOSA?
Camp NEOSA is a ministry of The Salvation Army that exists to give kids brand new experiences and show them how much Jesus loves them! This is only possible with a dedicated and intentional staff. Camp changes lives when we:
Nourish mind, body and spirit
Experience God’s creation outdoors
Offer a safe environment to grow and learn
Share the love of Jesus
Allow children to discover their self-worth
The moment you set foot on camp you become part of our camp fam – and the relationships you form will last a lifetime.
SUMMER POSITIONS
COUNSELING
Our counseling staff LOVE working with kids! Being responsible for a max of 10 campers per week, counselors make sure campers are taken care of, get to their activities, and, most importantly, show Jesus’ love in every moment!
OPERATIONS
From culinary to maintenance to housekeeping to nursing to office, our operations staff make sure everyone on camp is cared for! Their work may happen behind the scenes but their impact is felt all over camp through their hearts for serving and hands ready to help.
PROGRAM
The program staff bring the fun! They plan and lead camp activities throughout the day, such as swimming, archery, ropes course, arts and crafts, and athletics, incorporating our weekly camp theme and Jesus! Program staff get the unique opportunity to see every camper during the week!
GRACE Team
GRACE Team brings the energy to camp! These teen leaders from within The Salvation Army have the opportunity to take on different roles each week experiencing camp from a variety of perspectives. Along the way, they grow in their relationship with Jesus, develop leadership skills, and build meaningful community, all while having fun and making the most of their summer!

-
Meals and housing are provided for all staff. We have five cabins and a staff lodge to house the staff in community style living. Laundry facilities are provided. Staff also receive $60 for the summer towards our camp store for apparel and snacks.
Our staff lounge includes couches with a big screen TV and wide selection of movies and entertainment. We also have a gaming area with an XBOX and a PlayStation. We also have other table games including ping pong, pool, and foosball. Fiber internet is available around most of camp to stay connected.
-
Most positions start at $2,750 for the summer.
Returning staff earn a $100 increase for each year they return (up to 5 years).
-
Our camp calendar is designed so that staff have most weekends off. After staff are hired, they will receive a staff calendar with more details about their schedule.
During weekend breaks, all staff must leave camp unless they have permission from the Camp Directors to stay. International camp staff may remain on camp during weekend breaks.
-
Our desire is for every staff member to grow in their relationship with Jesus and connect with others while at camp! Through living in community, building relationships, and experiencing hands-on ministry, staff have the opportunity to grow in their faith and discover how God is working through them.
Weekly staff CONNECT gatherings and worship times provide opportunities to build community, grow together, and keep Jesus at the center of the camp experience.
-
Through trainings and hands-on experiences, staff develop valuable skills that prepare them for life beyond camp, including problem solving, communication, teamwork, and independence. Staff also have opportunities to take on leadership roles and advance within our camp structure.
Internship opportunities may also be available! If you are studying a field that connects with your camp experience, contact us to explore how your time at camp could count toward an internship or field experience.
